To start, all these podcast shows on the Deezer podcast tab are sorted into 15 different categories and sub-genres. These categories cater to particular themes like business news, self-help, cooking, music programs, and talks shows.

The Deezer podcast tab also hosts local and region-specific programs such as 'Podcast and Chill with MacG' from South Africa and 'Wild With Sarah Wilson' originally for Australian listeners. Additionally, the international streaming service also curates exclusive content with its Deezer Originals, such as the 'Straight Outta Asia' series, which will be featuring five up-and-coming hip hop stars from all across Asia.

Listeners from the newly added regions of Asia, Africa, and Oceania can also access some of the streaming service's most popular podcast shows for starters - 'TED Talks,' 'Daily,' 'No Such Thing As A Fish,' 'Serial,' and 'Hip Hop Saved My Life with Romesh Ranganathan.'

Find Shows That You'd Like, Based on the Time You Have

As with the music listening experience, users of the Deezer podcast tab will also see program recommendations tailored specifically just for them, based on their interests and the programs they follow - which Deezer also keeps updated by informing listeners whenever a new episode is now available. Deezer editors curate the podcast shows, both local and international content, grouped together according to genres or themes.

Deezer

Aside from its global coverage, Deezer also sorts content based on the time listeners have. With its 'Podcasts by duration' filter, users can find and listen to podcast shows that fit perfectly with their schedule - offering choices for 10, 20, 30, or 40 minute podcast shows.

'Our listeners love podcasts and we've had a sevenfold increase in monthly podcast users since 2017. Now we're expanding the offering to users in Asia, Africa, and Oceania,' said Deezer Content VP Frédéric Antelme in a company press release. 'We expect more fans around the world to turn to podcasts at home or on-the-go. Our country selector option also makes it possible to switch your location and listen to any local podcast in its native language.'

The Podcast Tab can be found conveniently next to the Music Tab within the app or website, now available worldwide. Fans can start listening through the Podcasts Section within the Deezer App.

Twitter is continuing its push to become a destination for all things streaming, announcing a partnership with Deezer today that will see the music streaming service added to the Twitter roster of Audio Cards. Deezer is joining other streaming services like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Rhapsody, and support for Deezer tunes in Audio Cards is rolling out today on iOS and Android.

Such a partnership could help both companies. Twitter has been looking to make a name for itself in the streaming world, striking partnerships with a number of broadcasters to stream all manner of things on the platform, from NFL games to the US National Conventions for the both the Republicans and the Democrats earlier in the year. While Audio Cards have been around for quite some time now – they launched with Soundcloud as the lone partner back in 2014 – adding support for new partners could help Twitter solidify its place as one stop shop for social media and streaming.

Meanwhile, Deezer is a popular music streaming service in its own right, boasting 16 million users, but that number still lags behind top dog Spotify by a significant amount. Teaming up with Twitter could do a lot to draw new users to the service. Deezer has a sizable following in some European countries, but it just launched in the US on a large scale over the summer, so having the exposure a site like Twitter can bring could help it catch on in the States.

If you’ve yet to try out Deezer for yourself, Twitter’s Audio Cards seem like a good jumping off point. We’ll see if this partnership can have a noticeable effect on Deezer’s user numbers, as well as which services will be added to Audio Cards next, so stay tuned.
