Bricscad Pro V20

Engineering Designers have taken advantage of the GTX industry leading technical imaging software that has been providing cost effective solutions for over three decades! GTXRaster CAD(R) Series, the industry-acclaimed 'BricsCAD for Raster' is the most valuable raster editing and clean up software available for BricsCAD users. Modify and enhance your legacy paper drawings in your preferred CAD environment for use in your current design process.

Apart from DWG format, BricsCAD is also able to handle Acis (.SAT) files. BricsCAD can import (/export).SAT (=Acis) files via the ACISIN, ACISOUT commands respectively. There is no direct support to import STEP/IGES or SolidWorks formats in BricsCAD. However there are many additional applications which will perform data exchange/transformation. Fully compatibility with BricsCAD Pro & Platinum v20 Support for Microsoft® Windows 10, Windows 8.0/8.1 and Windows 7, 64-bit operating systems only Improved PDF Support, open and save a color or black and white PDF file – once open, the files can be edited and then saved to a.

Description

GTXRaster CAD Series is fully integrated with the BricsCAD ATIL imaging libraries, all commands, menus and toolbars are consistent with BricsCAD V20. Designers find a productive and very easy-to-learn, ribbon user-interface and the GTXRaster CAD PLUS 2020 incorporates the light and dark color themes. The GTXRaster CAD Plus 2020 also includes rapid importing and conversion of a wide-range of raster file formats, PDF support, allowing the user to open and save a PDF file. gPDFSAVE allows saving multiple images to a single PDF file. In addition, GTX has developed numerous commands to make working with raster images easier and more manageable. Enhanced raster editing commands include gMCopy (multiple copies of selected raster move to new location), gTEXT (draws raster text in current image), gCTEXT (change raster text by text replacement), gHTEXT (edit vector text and create a raster underlay), gHYBRIDMODE (enable vector overlay of drawn raster lines, arcs, circles, rectangles and text), gDETACH (unloads or detaches a raster image, and gROTRECTANGLE (draw a rotated raster rectangle)and many other methods. If you are working with scanned paper drawings, then GTXRaster CAD Plus 2020 provides you with the most cost effective raster cleanup, raster editing, or raster-to-vector conversion solution. Save time and money! GTX solutions are designed and developed for use in the following industries: • Mechanical CAD (MCAD) • Automated Mapping and Facilities Management (AM/FM) • Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) • Geographical Information Systems (GIS) • Power Generation, Oil and Gas • Military • Government • Service Bureau markets. GTXRaster CAD(R) 2020 Series for BricsCAD V20 has been fully ported to the 64-bit platform and can run as a native 64-bit application directly on the Windows 10 x64 Edition, Windows 8/8.1 x64 Edition and Windows 7 x64 Edition. With the latest licensing technology, users will benefit with the FLEXENABLED(R) Software licensing program - using the Flexera(TM) FLEXnet Publisher - for either standalone single-user installation, or for multiple users with network installation. Network users have the option to accommodate previous versions with our ENHANCED Package Licensing support for their network environment using Version 2020 along with previous versions. In addition, users can request a Borrow license from the network version - great way to accommodate the consulting engineers! The GTXRaster CAD 2020 Series is only available with software licensing; hardware keys are no longer supported in this new version.

Last year, we tested the startup performance of several versions of AutoCAD and BricsCAD to see how the speed has changed over the years, and compare the two programs. With the recent release of AutoCAD 2021, we added its times — along with those of BricsCAD V20 Ultimate — to the rankings.

The results: AutoCAD 2021 is a little quicker to start than its recent predecessors, while BricsCAD V20 is a little slower (but still faster overall than AutoCAD).

In addition to AutoCAD 2021, AutoCAD 2019 and AutoCAD 2020 were retested to ensure a fair comparison. BricsCAD V20 Ultimate was tested and compared to last year’s data for BricsCAD V19 Platinum.

Times were recorded for a cold start — opening the program after a computer restart — and a warm start — opening the program after it has already been opened during the session, which is typically faster than a cold start. Times were taken at two points during startup: the time it takes for the program to open, and the time it takes to be able to execute commands. Times were rounded to the nearest half-second.

The methodology is explained in greater detail at the bottom of this post.

Time to Open

As shown in the graph and table below, the time it takes AutoCAD to open remained consistent for a cold start and trended downward for a warm start. BricsCAD, on the other hand, trended upward in both cases and was even beaten out by AutoCAD 2021 on a warm start.

Cold StartWarm StartCold StartWarm Start
AutoCAD 20196.5 seconds4 seconds
BricsCAD V19 Platinum4 seconds2 seconds
AutoCAD 20206.5 seconds3 seconds
BricsCAD V20 Ultimate5 seconds3 seconds
AutoCAD 20216.5 seconds2.5 seconds

Time to Run Commands

Similar to the open time, the time it takes for AutoCAD to accept commands trended downward for AutoCAD and upward for BricsCAD (though its command times are still significantly faster than for AutoCAD).

Cold StartWarm StartCold StartWarm Start
AutoCAD 201913.5 seconds9 seconds
BricsCAD V19 Platinum5 seconds3 seconds
AutoCAD 202010 seconds7 seconds
BricsCAD V20 Ultimate6 seconds4 seconds

For each version of AutoCAD and BricsCAD, a Lisp file was added to the startup suite that had two functions: outputting the time to the command line as soon as the program opened, and defining a command that would output the time to the command line. The software was opened through a batch file that also logged the time. Each version was configured to open to a new drawing immediately with no startup dialogs. Each execution time, open time, and command time was recorded, rounded to the nearest second, to determine the elapsed time.

Times were taken twice for each version and start type, with the result being the average of the times.
